There is a widely held idea that there is a reason why people have two ears and one mouth, and that is because it is important to listen more than speak. What can definitely be said, is that successful face-to-face or telephone communication requires a bit of both. In every area of life most people have had an exasperating experience where they start to make an enquiry or put forward an idea only to find that the person on the receiving end is not listening because they are not the right person to be speaking too. Businesses need to make sure their dealings are with the right potential customers. They may need some outside help with this so that they are can be heard.
Hearing tests are about being able to detect if a person is picking up the right signals in the right way. They might have problems with too many distracting sounds or find it difficult to pick up on part of the spectrum. Those involved in sales want to meet decision makers who will listen. However, to do so they have to listen to how to communicate with these potential customers too. It might be that they are flooded with too many conversations with the wrong people, or that they cannot seem to pick up on a certain level of business. Whether it is generating leads or selecting devices to help listen to these leads, it is important to really listen to what will communicate most clearly.
